Where are Solent Getaways properties located?

Our two beautiful properties are located on the Isle of Wight, which is an island between the English Channel and the Solent, south of England. both properties are in the village of Saint Helens, right on the coastline.

How do I get to there?

The nearest major airport is London Heathrow (LHR), though London Gatwick (LGW) or Southampton Airport (SOU) are also good options. Southampton Airport is the closest to the Isle of Wight.

Travel to the Ferry Terminal.

From Heathrow or Gatwick, take a train or coach to Southampton, Portsmouth, or Lymington (depending on your ferry choice).

From Heathrow: Take a train to Southampton Central via Woking. From Gatwick: Take a train directly to Southampton central or Portsmouth.

From Southampton Airport: a short train or taxi ride will take you to the ferry terminals.

The Isle of Wight is accessible by ferry from several ports. Red Funnel (Southampton to Cowes): Passenger and car ferry options available! Wightlink (Portsmouth to Fishbourne, or Lymington to Yarmouth): Passenger and car ferry options available. Hovertravel (Southsea to Ryde): A high-speed hovercraft is available for foot passengers.

What do I need to bring?

Both of our homes are fully furnished with all the necessities for a great holiday. Basic kitchen needs and bath towels and essentials are provided. If you have any specific questions, feel free to send us an email using the portal on the booking page. Getting around the town of Ryde is very walkable, although you are welcome to bring a car with you. Car rentals and Turo are both available in the UK and you can bring them on a ferry to the island, where parking is available at each home. The local currency on the Isle of Wight is the same as in the rest of England, the pound.

Are there any other places nearby to rent?

Yes! While there are many other properties on the Isle of wight, one in particular could be useful while booking your stay. The other side of the Rockhouse building has an airbnb (beautiful, and not owned by or affiliated with Solent Getaways) called Edith Cottage. Here is a link!
